After the adventure in Nicola Valley we returned to Sylvia and Gary's cozy home, and had a delicious BBQ salmon and homemade macaroni salad supper.
Margaret made the lovely placemat and coaster set above for Sylvia's birthday.
Yummy!
I was ready to collapse and watch some TV later that night.
Best Western has clean remotes which means they are easy to disinfect. Cool, eh?
Our cozy room. It had a king size bed.
Our room was on the ground floor which was nice.
Look at the dark menacing day.
After checking out, we headed to Sylvia's again where we met the whole clan, except Antoon.
Here is Dad Houben and Robert. Dad is 84.
Margaret surprised me with a really neat birthday gift; a doll lamp!
Isn't she pretty?
Margaret also surprised us with certificates signed by Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Premier Christy Clark, and MLA Adrian Dix for our recent 30th anniversary. We were thrilled with them.
Dad opening his gift from us.
We gave him a picture (handmade from a vendor in Granville Island) of a darling humming bird. One of Dad's hobbies is feeding the humming birds in Barriere.
Robert, Dad, Jared.
Gary included.
Jared and his wife, Laura, visited for 2 hours. They live in Chilliwack.
Here is little Isabella, their first child.
Jared, Isabella, and Laura. It was a really nice day, visiting and chatting.
We headed back home at 6 pm and reached Vancouver at 9.
It was a wonderful weekend!
