Friday Freebie

Here is a lovely vintage picture for you to use in your crafts, whether it's Christmas cards or any other idea.
I'm basically finished my cards. I only have a few more special ones to make for our Bible study group.
It's only one month until Christmas Day!

Freebie Friday May 13 2011

Aren't these cute? Would you believe I got them for FREE?
I'm an avid and loyal shopper at Sears Canada.
By using my Sears card I collect points.
These points add up to dollars.
These shoes were regularly $50.00 but were on sale for $25 yet I got them for FREE by using my saved up points. They seem very comfortable. I bought them in hopes that one day soon the warm sunny weather will arrive!
The month of April was the COLDEST and WETTEST on record.
I tell my friends we live on the Wet Coast (instead of the West Coast) and they chuckle.
But it's so wet here the local farmers can't plant the potato crop. We haven't had one week of sunshine since last year. I mean a full sunny week. I think the most we've had this year is two days of sunshine in a row.
So I hope I can wear those sandals soon!

Friday Freebie

Oh, I do love freebies! I just got another one. I had 2 gift certificates from Amazon.com, because I earned them by participating in a food panel. I had them from 6 months ago and figured I'd better use them, so now a free book is on its way! Well, it's not really free exactly, but I combined the 2 certificates so I didn't even have to pay for shipping. Alas, shipping from the USA would be more than the cost of the book! I ordered "Dolled Up For Murder", which someone on one of my dolly groups recommended. You know me...I cannot resist a good book, and especially if it's about dolls and murder combined!
PS: The image above has nothing to do with books or freebies, but I needed a nice colourful something or other at the top of this post!

Freebie Friday

You know how I adore FREE things.
Last week I went hunting for a birthday card for Matthew, and found one at Chapter's.
I picked out a book for myself (I'm slowly collecting Anne Perry's Thomas Pitt mystery series) and went to the cashier. She handed me a card to swipe as part of a promotion.
She stared at the receipt, and said "You've won 100% off your bill; you owe nothing."
I said "What?"

It's true. I owed nothing. By purchasing a card, my whole bill was free because of the luck of the draw.
Wow. Have you ever won something 100% off? I did ask if I could go back and pick out another book, but I was denied. However, I saved $14.24. Just think if I'd picked out an armful of books, though...

Freebie Friday...Christmas image

Another lovely free image from Dover Publications.
It's snowing here at the moment, so I thought this was appropriate!
Here's another appropriate one! I love snowflake designs, and I love to watch snow falling from the comfort of sitting inside my warm home! I'll never forget the winter of 2008. It's very cold here tonight. I think I'll go and take a hot soak in my new acrylic tub and retire for the night.

Friday Freebie

Here's a free image for my American friends, provided by
DOVER PUBLICATIONS.
If you click on the high lighted link above, it will take you to a sign up page where you can get your own free clipart. It's quite neat! I love Dover books. They're always having fabulous sales, so recently I placed an order for some adorable clipart. It hasn't arrived yet.
Last week I was shopping at Superstore, and lately they have a new promotion at the check out stands. They offer a "deal of the week", and you get it for FREE if the cashier doesn't offer it to you.
So I waited until my bill was rung up, and I paid and received my change back, and I asked the cashier for the deal, which was a body wash by Dial. She looked at me and asked if I wished to buy it. I said no, I get it for free, as she hadn't offered it to me. So she handed it to me, and whispered "I won't ring for the manager this time, I'll just let you have it."
I do not know what in the world she meant by that!
I really don't understand people lately; it's as if they're speaking a different language.

Free delicious cookie recipes online: Freebie Friday

OK, these are not my photos; I unabashedly took them from BHG's website.
I know they won't mind...this is free advertising for them!
I receive daily emails from them and today I printed off my Christmas cookie "to do" list!
There are 7 weeks until Christmas Eve.

I really, really like to bake! I'm planning to try all these recipes and then some. Tee hee...I have 2 grown nephews and I'm going to give them a tin full of Christmas baking as their Christmas gift. I'll probably give Matthew a tin full too.

I'm planning to try this one, "Mini Raspberry and White Chocolate Whoppie Pies", next week for our Small Group get together. The ingredients list "mascarpone cheese" which I've never tried before.
I love to try out new recipes!

Adorable old-fashioned picture (Freebie Friday)

As you all know, I love FREE things!
This adorable clip art was sent to me free by Dover Publications.
If you'd like to receive their free clip art, click on the above link.
I love their books. I wish I had money to buy them all!
I especially love this picture. Washing and hanging laundry outside is so satisfying!

Freebie Friday

Today was a beautiful, gorgeous summer like day, even though it's October 1st.
I cleaned so much yesterday that today I said "No more cleaning!" and I went to Granville Island downtown, near the water. Alas, Matthew had the day off so I didn't see him. Nevertheless I enjoyed myself immensely. I sat outside on a bench and ate my lunch with a large seagull sitting right next to me on the bench, watching my every move.
I also shopped at Sears. I love the downtown store. It has a huge variety of clothing and is very clean and uncluttered. I noticed that if you bought one item, you got the next item FREE!
Who can resist that? So for each of the pretty skirts above, I got a free top!
Now I'm all set for Fall. I bought the purse the other day for 1/2 price at Payless shoes; if you buy one item you get the 2nd 1/2 price.
I love free deals!

Freebie Friday

Hmm...I don't have a picture for this Freebie, as I ate it. Tee...hee...Rocky Mountain Fudge Factory will send you an email for a FREE chocolate bar (worth $3.95) for your birthday, if you sign up and have a points card. This is the 2nd year I've received the email for the free bar. This year I chose the dark chocolate bar, and it is simply superb. Their chocolate is just as good as Purdy's. I think their dark chocolate is even better!

The other FREE thing I received for my birthday this year was a coupon from Boston Pizza for a FREE pasta dinner. Robert and I ate there just before my birthday; Robert used the coupon as I don't care for pasta. The coupon was worth $13.95.

Did I mention that I love FREE?

Freebie Friday

I just love FREE things! If you look around, there are many to be found, believe it or not.
My friend, Linda P, is the Queen of Free. However, the above hardcover book was discovered without her help. * smile * Last Saturday Robert and I went on a little adventure to Hats Off Days in the Burnaby Heights community. We visited a little bookstore near the Valley Bakery (the same bakery where I bought our wedding cake) and they were handing out coupons. On the back of Robert's coupon was an invitation to choose a FREE book from a stack of books in the store. I made a beeline for this book; the recipes all look fantastic.
The dessert recipe that I already tried this past Tuesday is from this book.
FREE is wonderful!
