On Monday, Dec 24 2012 we got up early and left the house at 8:15 am, an unheard of hour for us! We arrived at Granville Island downtown Vancouver at 8:45. We found free parking, another major feat and we hastened into the Market to purchase the last of the goodies for the Christmas feast.
Robert bought me this lovely centerpiece for the table.
Can you spot Matthew? That's his boss in the white sweater.
Matthew assisting me in my meat selection.
Matthew and some of his co-workers, Kierra and Tima.
The card we gave Matthew, with a gift of money inside.
Later that day, after Christmas Eve service at 4 pm at Willingdon Church, Robert went to pick up Matthew from the other end of town, and I began the Christmas Eve feast in the kitchen.
These are stuffed mushroom caps. They were delicious!
I also made toasted bruchetta with grilled grape tomatoes on top and cream cheese spread.
These were my favourites! The tomatoes were tossed in olive oil, maple syrup and oregano.
Oh yummy!!!!
They were served with Thai curry chicken soup from Safeway deli. It tastes like homemade.
Matthew brought a selection of cheese and sausages so we had a scrumptious feast.
My manger scene which I set up on the piano this year.
It was purchased in 1978.
The snowflakes were cut by my newfound cousin, Linda Gusa.
She is very talented!
Tee hee...maybe next year we will have a full sized tree!
Christmas morning.
One happy dog!

Looks like everyone had a wonderful Christmas. The food you made has me really hungry right about now. Looks delicious. Those various Christmas plates are oh so pretty, too. Wishing you and your lovely family blessings for the upcoming New Year.
