Spring Break

You can tell the winter is coming to a close, hurrah! hurrah! because I'm already posting less and less. That doesn't mean that's it's warm out by any means, but Spring Cleaning and Spring Trips are creeping into my life, and filling my days.
Last Friday my hubby drove myself and Linda, a doll collecting friend, down to Puyallup and the Doll Show at the fairgrounds. The trip down was wonderful; shopping at Bellis Fair and stores close by, chatting in the car, eating dinner at Elmer's, having delicious warm freshly made chocolate chip cookies and milk at the Comfort Inn when we arrived, swimming in the chilly inside pool, and making plans for the doll show on Saturday.
This was the first doll show of my life. You know I love dolls. I was on the hunt for a Shirley Temple doll but discovered they are rather out of my price range. The show overwhelmed me. I didn't know what to expect. There were 3 aisles of booths in a large room. The booths were set up very attractively. My hubby kindly came with us, and roamed about patiently, spotting all the Chatty Cathy dolls for us.
I didn't buy anymore Chatty Cathy dolls, but Linda did! I bought a darling Saucy Walker doll for $10! And I found 2 old Skipper dolls with the red bathing suits and straight hair, plus a Skooter doll with brunette pig tails. I also bought a Skipper book, and 3 Dolly Darling dolls by Hasbro. You need a pocket full of money for spending!
It was a fun trip. It's always fun to travel with Linda. She even brought along homebaked cookies to eat in the car. The drive down was 3 hours; not bad. We drove through Seattle and saw the Space Needle. The weather on Friday was sunny and crisp, and Mt Baker and Mt Ranier were so very beautiful. The next day it rained but we were inside until 1:30. We drove back home after lunch, arriving here at 7:30 pm. It was a great start to Spring Break.
I'll post tomorrow about the rest of the week.
