Spring is here!

The above flowers were spotted on our walk to Central Park on March 22. The crocuses below were planted by my mom 11 years ago when they moved into their apartment condo, in the front yard.

I had a lovely weekend, and so did my hubby. He went to Vancouver Island with his Cubs group from church, and I had two sweet nights all by myself. I was never bored. Not once. Don't get me wrong; I love my hubby dearly, but he enjoys getting away with the guys, and I enjoy a bit of alone time. (translate: no snoring at night)

I had such a nice day on Saturday! It was fun to get together with my sister and 2 friends, eating lunch in the crowded food court filled with happy spring break shoppers; walking to the movie place and watching a completely, rather vapid, girly movie; walking back through the busy mall and browsing through the grand daddy of all the stores at Metrotown; Sears, and trying on bargain priced clothes hoping to win 50% off on Scratch and Save! I even came home with three more cute and comfortable tops (one for a loonie!) to squeeze into my already bulging closet. What more could a gal ask for?

It was a lovely way to celebrate Spring! Yesterday it was so nice outside I took Kelsie and met my parents at the corner of Central Park, and my Dad held Kelsie's leash while we meandered through the park filled with other Sunday walkers and even picnickers, and noticed that YES, the tiny buds on the bushes were beginning to show an emerald green. That thrilled us to the bone! Spring really is here!
However, you will notice in the picture below that Kelsie is standing on a large lump of SNOW in Central Park. It's unbelievable that there is still snow left in our once warm and gentle temperature city.

I am soooo jealous! While the snow IS melting, it is doing so only very slowly and most of the yard is still under at least 6 inches of the darn stuff.
