Radiation from Japan has reached BC...

The gamma-rays from iodine-131 have been discovered in BC's rainwater and seaweed on March 28, 2011. Yikes. It freaks me out. Do you know what it does here nearly every day during the entire year, with a break of a few days now and then? Yes, it rains. Leona said we shouldn't let the rain touch our skin...now how do I do that? The federal government has said that the radiation levels are too low to harm us, and so has BC's chief medical health officer, Dr. Perry Kendall.
Do you think it's time I bought my own geiger counter? Where do I find one of those?
I'm still working on my earthquake kit. I bought 2 cans of soup which have a tab to pull on top, so I don't need a can opener, but I also added a manual can opener just in case all cans don't have those lovely pull tabs! (which they should) I have ordered more water from Canadian Springs which is coming today. (I'm always running out of water so I know I'll thirst to death in a crisis.)
By the way, I have suffered no guilt at all in drinking bottled water, as periodically our tap water has thick muddy residue in it, and sorry, I'm just not letting that pass my lips!
I added a large lighter to the kit, too, and I have hundreds of candles which aren't exactly inside the kit yet. If an earthquake of any proportion happened today, I'd be doomed for sure. I guess I need to hussle. I had a dream about an earthquake the other night and it wasn't pleasant. What a very strange year it's been so far.

I'm sure you'll be fine. Don't panic. I believe I heard on the news that the levels reaching the west coast of the US would have to be absorbed for one year to reach the level of one CAT scan. People have many, many CAT scans. Live in the moment and enjoy the day. :)

I've been buying groceries like crazy and stocking up on water too.

Perhaps you and I should build a huge tree house out of cement and take our dolls with us...just in case.

Thinking of you tonight after a long walk with the dogs.
So fun meeting you last month.
I'm back to blogging. I've been away for a couple of months, at least visiting other blogs.

The store is picking speed for the first two days of April, it looks promising for all of us. Your Chatty is getting lots of attention!
