I find it difficult to believe, but it was 25 years ago today, April 23, 1987, that Robert and I purchased our first home at 3349 Monmouth Avenue in Vancouver BC, for the vast sum of $110,000!
The property is now worth nearly one million. Who could possibly believe that 25 years ago?
That is the sum we could afford on Robert's wage. I had quit working in order to have a family.
The next year I became pregnant and we were so very happy in this little home.
We lived here for seven years. In August 1994 we moved a few blocks away to our present location.
There is nothing like the JOY of buying your first home.
We had many happy years here. Our bedroom was on the left hand side, and Matthew's was on the right hand side in the photo above. Matthew's room had sliding glass doors onto the patio.
He loved to play out there in his sandbox.
I will never forget how happy I was when we bought this house.
