Guess what we did on Tuesday evening? We took the Christmas tree down! Because I was sick for 2 weeks with laryngitis, I felt like I'd missed some of Christmas, so I really enjoyed our blue tree! Now I have to finish cleaning up the huge mess of boxes, and get them all back in the office closet, including the tree!

In 2000 Matthew and I decorated the tree in all blue lights, with white or silver ornaments, and silver tinsel, when Robert was away on one of his many business trips. We wanted to surprise him. Poor Matthew had the chicken pox badly at the time, so when Robert came home, he didn't even notice the tree! We were a little miffed, and we've never let him forget it. Tee...hee...So every year, we decorate the tree in all blue lights, exactly as we did in 2000. This was our 9th Christmas with a blue tree. I doubt we'll ever stop. It's quite a beautiful sight.
As of today, we've had snow on the ground since December 13th. Never ever in all my 48 years have I seen snow last so long. It just doesn't melt. I took the garden rake, and attacked the snow in the back yard again. I broke it up into lumps, and threw it down onto a lower level of the yard where the rocks are. It gave me great satisfaction. It also helps it to melt faster. I heard a rumour that more snow is coming on the weekend but I don't believe them at all. Robert and I are planning on going on a date on Sat to see "Inkheart", a new movie which sounds very interesting. Here's a little blurb from Wikipedia:

I don't know what it will be like, but the trailer online intrigued me. I like anything to do with books...

Loretta...I have an idea. Throw the snow in your neighbor's yard. :) (I'm only kidding.)
Our roads are finally clear so I hope the prediction of more snow are really wrong!! My daffodils are up about 3 inches in the front planter and the planters by the basement door. I have NOT waded through the soggy back yard to check my main garden planter yet though! I hope my palm tree is alive under the covering..I am afraid to look under...
