The pictures speak for themselves. This is the left side of our house. The damage occurred at 4 am on Saturday, August 29/09. Our neighbours excavated their property after tearing down their house the week of August 17. Alas, they came too close to our retaining wall!
I heard the noise, but because it was at 4 am and I was in a deep sleep, and because the fan was running, I thought it was burglars. I got up to use the bathroom, and then I thought...the alarm would be going off if it was burglars. It also sounded like a picture falling off a wall. I went back to bed!
I let Kelsie out at 7:30 am and fortunately I double checked the yard, and noticed the FENCE WAS MISSING! My first thought was that someone had stolen it! Then I saw the hole and grabbed Kelsie, and ran back inside and pounded on the bathroom door for Robert. He came running.

Oh No....I have just gotten to meet you and the house is in the drink....good gravy, we need a rescue squad. This is an awful event. Not making too light of it but, my goodness, you'll be telling this story for years!
oh my heavens - Loretta are you guys ok? Is your house ok? what are you going to do?
I hope they have it shored up by now....what an awful mess...
