A Christmas doll

My Mom received this doll for a Christmas gift in 1945. She named her Peggy Sue.
While shopping at Montgomery Ward's store in McMinnville, OR, my Mom spotted this doll on display, in the downstairs department of the store. She begged her mother for it, but her mother said she was too old for dolls.
My Mom kept begging, so her mother said they'd have to ask her father.
They agreed that this would be my Mom's last doll.
The doll was $11.99.
In February of this year, my Mom gave Peggy Sue to me.
Merry Christmas, Peggy Sue!
This is your 64th Christmas!
