"And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12
We read that verse last night at the Small Group's Bible Study which Robert and I attend. The question was raised; "Why is this day called Good Friday, when it's a sad day, commemorating the death of our Saviour, Jesus Christ?"
Robert said he heard that it's a contraction of "God's Friday". I looked this up online, where you can find anything you don't know by "googling" it, and it's true. I also found out that the word "good-bye" is a contraction of "God be with ye". I don't know many things, it seems, but I do know that Christ is my Saviour, and that He died and rose again for me and you!

I had never thought about why it was called Good Friday. I just knew it was Good Friday and never questioned why. Now I know!
