I'm currently reading "The Crown and the Crucible" by Michael Phillips and Judith Pella.Robert gave it to me Christmas Eve 1994, but I've never read the whole book.
It's a story of Russian peasants in 1876. There are many books after this one, continuing the story of "The Russians".
I'm still trying to get a feel for what my great grandparent's lives were like at this time in history. I also visited the library on Monday and searched the shelves for 2 non-fiction books; great big thick volumes which tell the history of this huge land.
I'm trying to get my research part finished by the end of June. I really feel that I need to understand the history and the flavour of the land before my story can be written.
