I cannot believe it's been one year since that exciting day, Feb 12, 2010, when the Winter Olympic Games opened in Vancouver BC. I was reminiscing and looking at all my wonderful photos. Such memories! I adore excitement and crowds of happy people. The above photo was taken on one of the hectic days Robert and I went downtown. This was at Vancouver House.
It took a long time to get into and wasn't that great once we did get in.
However, there were so many things to see and do in Vancouver itself; the Olympic flame on the waterfront; the Olympic rings which glowed golden when our athletes won a gold medal; the medals that you could touch with special mitts that you could keep afterwards (mitts, not medals); the mobs of happy people milling and surging through the streets; the wonderful Olympic displays all over, even in the malls and stores; and the glorious Canadian flag on display everywhere your eye could see.
It was a stunning visual display and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Best of all, yet so strange, the WEATHER was the warmest on record in 100 years for winter! The pink trees were blossoming, the daffodils were a riot of colour, and we all wore our spring coats.
It was one fantastic time in our lives!

Hi dear, I read the post and I can't believe that a year has gone by and that poor Olympian who sadly was killed on the luge. I love your photos, you look wonderful!
