Way back in November of last year I discovered while doing research on my Great Uncle William Williams that the Olympic torch would be passing through Blaenau Ffestiniog, Wales, on May 28 2012. I thought that was a long way off! Now the momentous day has come and gone, but here are some lovely photos of this pretty spot in the UK, where my great grandfather, John Williams, and his brother William grew up. I borrowed these photos from the BBC website which is wonderful.

Hi Jenni; yes, my grandpa, John Griffith Williams, was from Blaenau! He lived there for a time; I'm not sure how long. I have a postcard with his address on it. Ooo...what sort of Welsh bits and pieces, Jenni? I'm intrigued!
