Happy 83rd birthday, Dad! Happy Canada Day!

All good things must come to an end.
Dan and Marlene's visit was very enjoyable.
We got caught up again. It's difficult when we meet every two years, but it's also as if we had only parted two months ago.
Here we are downtown, before Dan and Marlene set off on their Alaskan cruise.

Dan is ready for Alaska in his winter parka.
It was only 13 C downtown.

Saying our goodbyes near the cruise ship terminal.

Robert and I hung around Canada Place in the mobs of 2000 people, to see Dan and Marlene sail away. We spotted them onboard the deck around 3:00, but when we returned at 4:30 they were no where to be seen.

The Statendam in the background. Somehow I wish I was onboard...

The Olympic cauldron was lit for Canada's 145th birthday today.

The ship backing into Burrard Inlet.

The Statendam beginning to sail away.
Bon voyage, Marlene and Dan!

We took my parents out to Swiss Chalet this evening.
It's my Dad's 83rd birthday today. We always thought it was fun that he got a holiday for his birthday!
Happy birthday, dear Dad! Have a marvelous year.
It's been a wild 5 days, and I'm rather tired but I had to blog tonight!
